Ben’s first career spanned 24 years in the Australian Army, the majority of which was spent within Special Operations Command. In this capacity, Ben served on multiple operational deployments to theatres including Timor Leste, Iraq and Afghanistan, where he was decorated for leadership in combat. Ben’s final posting within the Army was as Commanding Officer of the Special Air Service Regiment.
